Cabin Still is a historic bourbon brand. It was the flagship brand of W. L. Weller & Sons since the late 1800s, and was sold as a medicinal whiskey during Prohibition. When Stitzel-Weller opened in 1935, Cabin Still became the distillery’s entry-level wheated bourbon. In 1972, Norton Simon bought the Stitzel-Weller distillery and the story goes they started mixing their not-so-great Canada Dry Bourbon into the Cabin Still brand. Stitzel-Weller closed in 1992, and its brands were sold to other distilleries. The rich heritage of Cabin Still has led to this 80 proof bottling of Cabin Still Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, produced in Bardstown by Heaven Hill.
