Cambus 30 Years Old Signatory Vintage 1991 Cask #104230 is a rare single grain whisky from the Cambus distillery (closed in 1993), released by independent bottler Signatory Vintage. The whisky was distilled on 3 December 1992 and matured for three decades in refill sherry butt #104230. It was bottled on 29 September 2022 at a cask strength of 54.4%. Cambus was founded in 1806 by John Moubray. It started out as a malt distillery, but was converted into a grain distillery in 1836 and grew to be one of the largest grain distilleries in Scotland. The distillery was run as a family business for most of the 19th century. Cambus was one of the founding members of the Distillers Company Ltd. (DCL) in 1877, the predecessor to the modern-day Diageo. A huge fire in 1914 destroyed large parts of the distillery, and it was not rebuilt until the late 1930s. Cambus closed in 1993 following the oversupply crisis of the 1980s, and the distillery was demolished not long after. One of 439 bottles.
