Caol Ila 11 Years Old The Whisky Jury 2008

The Whisky Jury has built up a great reputation as one of the best indie bottlers out there. Their new releases always sell out quickly so we’re super glad to have got our hands on this Caol Ila 11 Years Old The Whisky Jury 2008. This is the 7th release from The Whisky Jury. Normally we like to bring you all the whisky nerd facts here at Must Have Malts but this barrel must have been hiding in some dark warehouse corner and completely forgotten about because sadly, we don’t know a whole heap about it. We do know it’s a Caol Ila single malt but we can’t be sure what kind of barrels it was aged in. Perhaps 1st fill bourbon barrels? Oh well, let’s not get bogged down in details here. It’s got a nose of mandarin, a little smoke and cinnamon spiced apples. The palate has notes of vanilla, honey and sugar balanced out with a saltiness and smoke. The finish has gingerbread, almond and a wisp of salty smoke.
