The state-run Caroni Distillery on the Caribbean island of Trinidad was a famous producer of heavy rums in the 20th century, but the island’s sugar-growing industry collapsed and the distillery was shut down in 2002. The majority of its remaining stock is in the hands of the Italian bottling company Velier, led by rum expert Luca Gargano. Caroni 15 Years Old 1999 James Dinnen Series is a single barrel release by The Creative Whisky Company, bottled as part of a series dedicated to Glasgow artist James Dinnen. The label features a stunning painting of two Glasgow landmarks: the concert hall The Armadillo, and the Finnieston Crane. Just 150 bottles have been released.
