A 22-year-old small batch rum from the closed Trinidad distillery Caroni. It is the oldest Caroni bottling released by independent bottler Rum Nation. The rum was distilled in 1998 and initially matured in second-fill bourbon casks in the tropics. It was then transported to Europe, where it was finished in two second-fill oloroso sherry casks for 26 months and bottled in 2020 at 57.4%. The state-run Caroni Distillery on the Caribbean island of Trinidad was a famous producer of heavy rums in the 20th century, but the island’s sugar-growing industry collapsed and the distillery was shut down in 2002. Only 960 bottles of Caroni 22 Years Old Small Batch Rum Nation have been released. Please note: due to the size of this impressive release, it takes 3 spaces in a parcel.
