A 40-year-old Armagnac that was distilled in 1979 and bottled on 17-12-2019. That’s a long time for sure! It’s produced by Château de Pomès Pébérère, a domain in Ténarèze, one of the three Armagnac plantation areas (terroirs) in the southwest of France. Armagnac is the oldest wine distillate made in France. Early records find that Armagnac was made since 1200 and likely even earlier – that’s 200 years earlier than brandy!
