Armagnac is the oldest wine distillate made in France. It has been made since 1200 – that’s 200 years earlier than brandy! This rare armagnac was made by Château de Pomès Pébérère, a domain in Ténarèze, one of the three Armagnac plantation areas (terroirs) in the southwest of France. It was distilled in 1975 and matured for over 45 years, before being bottled on 29 March 2021 at 42%. The Château de Pomès Pébérère domain was built in the 15th century, and came into the possession of the current owners, the Faget family, in 1820.
