This 20 year old Clynelish 1996 matured in an ex-bourbon cask, before it was bottled by Taiwanese bottling company Spirits Shop’ Selection. It’s a peppery single malt at first, that becomes ashy and even tropical, with notes of lychee and raspberry. All of the labels by Spirits Shop’ Selection depict art created by Asian artist. The Taiwanese whisky brand was set up by Eric Huang, one of the foremost whisky experts in Asia and a great whisky collector on top of that. He is a judge in the World Whisky Awards and is chairman of the Taiwan and Hong Kong Single Malt Whisky Association.
