About the Colonel E.H. Taylor Single Barrel (2013)

Look! It’s 2013 Colonel E.H. Taylor Single Barrel! 2013 was one of the first years that Buffalo Trace released this brand. They based it on Old Taylor, a legendary brand once made by National Distillers. All E.H. Taylor bourbon are Bottled in Bond, apart from the Barrel Proof for obvious reasons. The Colonel E.H. Taylor Single Barrel from 2013 is no exception to that rule. It is aged for at least four years and bottled at a mandatory 100 proof. Even though it is a single barrel bourbon, there is no barrel number on the bottle or tube that it comes in. The Colonel E.H. Taylor bourbon brand was set up by Sazerac at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in 2009, after the company acquired the rights from Beam. It’s an hommage to bourbon pioneer Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who fought for the Bottled-in-Bond Act in 1897.
