Compass Box Hedonism Maximus is a limited edition blended grain whisky, created by Compass Box in collaboration with La Maison du Whisky. The blend consists of two old and rare grain whiskies: a 42-year-old Invergordon distilled in 1965, and a 28-year-old 1979 distillate from the closed Carsebridge distillery. The whisky matured in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak casks and was bottled in 2008 at a cask strength of 50.1%. Compass Box Hedonism Maximus was voted Best Grain Whisky in the World at the 2008 Whisky Awards. Only 1500 bottles were released.
