The historic bourbon brand Cream of Kentucky was first made in 1888. Schenley reintroduced it after Prohibition and subsequently distilled it at James E. Pepper and the George T. Stagg Distillery. Today, the iconic brand is in the hands of former Four Roses master distiller Jim Rutledge. He recently founded his own distillery, and in the meantime is sourcing whiskey for Cream of Kentucky from other Kentucky distilleries. Cream Of Kentucky 12.3 Years Old Batch #3 is the third release since the rebirth of Cream of Kentucky as a premium whiskey. This limited-edition bourbon aged for 12.3 years and was bottled in 2019 at 102 proof. Cream Of Kentucky 12.3 Years Old Batch #3 has a traditional bourbon nose with aromas of creamy caramel, vanilla, honey and warm spice cake. The palate is sweet and buttery, coating the mouth with rich flavours of vanilla, cinnamon, sweet cherries, caramel, milk chocolate, nuts and oak. The finish is long, rich and smooth with lingering notes of baking spices, tobacco and floral citrus.
