About the Crown Royal 1981
A gorgeous 1980s bottling of Canadian whisky that was originally exported to the Japanese market. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth went on a Royal Tour of Canada in 1939, becoming the first reigning monarchs to visit the country. In honor of their visit, Seagram created a special whisky as a gift. This blend later fittingly became known as Crown Royal. Crown Royal was produced in Waterloo, Ontario until the distillery there closed in 1992. Production then moved to the plant at Gimli, Manitoba. Crown Royal 1981 was distilled in 1981 and bottled at 80 proof. The bottle comes with the iconic purple pouch.
