Daftmill is a farm distillery. Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, the distillery itself only runs during the farm’s quiet periods – midsummer and winter – sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing the barley used to make this Lowland whisky. This Daftmill Summer Batch Release was distilled in August 2009 from Optic barley harvested in 2006. It contains whisky from a first-fill ex-oloroso sherry butt and three ex-bourbon barrels, making this the first Daftmill release matured in both bourbon and sherry casks. The single malt matured in casks 047/2009, 048/2009, 050/2009, and 052/2009 for 11 years before being bottled at 46% in 2020. Only 1785 bottles of the Daftmill Summer Batch Release 2009 have been released.

Safe packing
