What do we have here…? A very rare 12 year old Dalmore, probably bottled sometime way back in the 1970s. This oldie has the distinct black and gold label featuring the Dalmore stag just under the age statement. Legend has it that way back in 1263, the Scottish King came to visit the Chief of Clan Mackenzie for a little catch-up. While they were out riding, a furious stag charged straight at the King. Luckily Mackenzie was there to swoop in and save him, and the King was so grateful he gave the clan the right to use the 12 pointed Royal Stag on their coat of arms. Hundreds of years later descendants of the Mackenzie Clan became the owners of Dalmore and the stag has been sitting on their bottles ever since. Dalmore 12 Years Old 75 Proof is a gorgeous dusty old whisky made all the more gorgeous because the bottle is a full liter!
