A 20-year-old Dalmore single malt bottled by Ian Macleod for the Dun Bheagan series, featuring impressive single cask whiskies from all over Scotland. The whisky was distilled in December 1995 and received a finish in an Oloroso sherry cask, before being bottled in June 2016 at 46.0% ABV. The Dalmore distillery was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson. In 1867, Matheson leased the distillery to the brothers Andrew and Charles Mackenzie, descendants of the Clan Mackenzie. They expanded the distillery and began substantially developing Dalmore’s whisky. The third Mackenzie brother, William, joined the distillery in 1881. Ten years later, the Mackenzie brothers bought the Dalmore distillery outright. The company eventually lost its independence when, in 1960, Mackenzie Brothers (Dalmore) Ltd merged with Whyte & Mackay, a long-time customer of Dalmore and friend of the Mackenzie family. Whyte & Mackay is currently under the ownership of Emperador Inc, who acquired the company in 2014. Only 669 bottles of Dalmore 1995 Dun Bheagan 20 Years Old were released.
