In the 18th century, there lived a man called Severo Arango y Ferro who oversaw trade between Spain and the American Spanish colonies. Because of his strong and powerful nature, the locals gave him the nickname ‘El Dictador’. While working in the colonies, he discovered rum. He immediately fell in love with the drink and began trading sugar cane spirits. In 1913, one of El Dictador’s descendants established the Destilería Colombiana to produce a fine Colombian rum in honour of his forefather’s legacy. The Best Of range features unique and incredibly rare rums from the distillery, carefully chosen and mixed by the master blender from among the oldest barrels held in Dictador’s warehouses. Dictador 37 Years Old Best Of 1978 is a handcrafted limited release, with 306 bottles at 41%.
