Severo Arango y Ferro—nicknamed ‘El Dictador’ because of his strong and powerful character—oversaw trade between Spain and the American Spanish colonies in the 18th century. It was love at first sight when he discovered rum during his stay in present-day Colombia, and he became a trader of sugar cane spirits. Years later, his descendant Don Julio Arango y Parra founded the Destilería Colombiana. He named his premium Colombian rum ‘Dictador’ in honour of his ancestor. With the Best Of range, Dictador brings you classic Colombian flavours: rich, deep and luxuriously delicious. It features rare handcrafted rums drawn from the best and oldest barrels in the distillery’s warehouses. Dictador 36 Years Old Best Of 1979 saw a limited release of 324 bottles at 40.5%.
