Doc Swinson’s Alter Ego Sherry & Cognac Finish is a limited-edition bourbon from the Washington-based Doc Swinson’s. It is a blend of two high-rye bourbons from MGP of Indiana that first aged for 5-6 years in new charred American oak barrels. They were then blended and finished in three different cask types: Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso sherry and fresh cognac puncheons. The bourbons were blended again and married for another month in cognac foeders, before being bottled in 2021 at 95.8 proof. This release is part of the Alter Ego series, which explores the effects of different cask finishes on the whiskey.
