This is the 7th release in Doc Swinson’s acclaimed Hand Selected Exploratory Cask Series. The Exploratory Cask series is an experimental line of very limited edition whiskey, bottled in small batches. Only 98 bottles of this 13-year-old bourbon were released. Doc Swinson’s is a relatively new brand of sourced whisky that is managed by three friends called Jesse, Chris, and Steve. When they were offered a cache of bourbon barrels that was too good to pass up on, they didn’t refuse. That was the start of what is now a growing variety of very limited releases that are bottled under their Flagship, Exploratory or Rare Release series. Fun fact: David Swinson ‘Doc’ Maynard was one of Seattle’s founders. At the time, the settlement was still called Duwamps, after the tribe of Native Americans that lived there when the settlers arrived. Doc Swinson named it Seatlle, after Chief Si’ahl (‘Seattle’). The more you know, right?
