Don Julio Tequila Añejo is a premium tequila from the La Primavera distillery in Mexico, aged for 18 months in American white oak barrels. Don Julio Tequila Añejo is a rich, distinctive and complex tequila with aromas of fresh lime, grapefruit, citrus and caramel on the nose. The palate is full-bodied with notes of cooked agave, wild honey, vanilla and butterscotch, leading to a bright and lightly spiced finish with a touch of honey. Don Julio is one of the largest tequila brands in the world. It was founded by Don Julio González, who was born in 1925 and ventured into the world of tequila at a young age. In 1947, he built his own distillery in his birthplace of Atotonilco El Alto and named it La Primavera (The Spring). Always choosing quality over quantity, he realized the importance of controlling every aspect of the process from growing the agave to bottling the final product. In this way, Don Julio created the world’s first luxury tequila, and his namesake brand was launched in 1987.
