Early Times was one of the few distilleries that was allowed to produce liquor during Prohibition. In 1923, The Brown-Forman Company bought the brand. They produced this Half Gallon at their Louisville, KY distillery in the 1970s as an export whiskey. US customary units vs the metric system: all sorts of things were lost in translation when bourbon was exported to Italy in the 1970s. Rules did not apply much, which is why you will see many different volumes on Half Gallon bottles (or other sizes that were customary before 1980) that were sold in Europe during this time. This Early Times Half Gallon Italian Import has a stated 2L volume on the label, but 1.75L and 1.89L were more often seen. So huzzah: more booze to go around with this Early Times! Please note: due to the size of this giant, it takes up three spaces in one parcel.
