A 14-year-old single malt from the Edradour distillery, released as part of the Straight From The Cask series. The whisky was distilled on 20 December 1995 and spent an initial maturation period in Hogsheads. On 4 May 2006 it was transferred into a Barolo Hogshead for finishing. After a total maturation of 14 years the whisky was finally bottled on 28 April 2010 at a cask strength of 56.1%. Only 467 bottles were released. The Edradour distillery was founded in 1825. It was originally named Glenforres; in 1837 the name Edradour (meaning ‘the land between two rivers’) was first mentioned. Producing just 12 barrels per week, Edradour is the smallest distillery in Scotland.
