Enmore Demerara Rum 1990 Moon Import is a vintage Demerara rum from the Enmore distillery in Guyana. The rum was distilled in 1990 and matured in Sherry cask #29 for more than 25 years. In 2016 it was bottled by the legendary Italian whisky importer Moon Import. The Enmore Demerara Rum 1990 Moon Import was distilled in the historic Versailles single wooden pot still. This pot still was made for the Versailles Estate, which was founded in the mid-18th century. When the Versailles Distillery closed in the early 1970s, their pot still was moved to Enmore. The Enmore distillery closed in 1993 and the Versailles still went to Uitvlugt. When they, too, were forced to close in 2000, the still went to the last remaining rum distillery in Guyana (Diamond Distillery) where the Versailles pot still (now over 250 years old!) remains in operation to this day. Only 315 bottles of Enmore Demerara Rum 1990 Moon Import were released. Please note that the box is not pristine.
