In the late 18th century, a Welsh immigrant named Evan Williams settled in what is now Louisville, Kentucky. Here, he founded what is believed to be the first commercial distillery in Kentucky. In honor of this bourbon pioneer, Heaven Hill created Evan Williams Bourbon in 1957. It would become Heaven Hill’s flagship brand and one of the top-selling bourbons in the United States. Evan Williams Vintage 2004 Jockey’s Choice Edition is a 9-year-old single barrel edition of this iconic bourbon, bottled in 2014 at 86.6 proof.
