Here we have a dusty little sipper from the 1990s courtesy of Ezra Brooks. Ezra Brooks was the creation of Frank Silverman, who developed the brand for the Hoffman Distilling Company in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky in 1957. Frank’s creation was moved to the Medley distillery in the 1970s and later to Luxco in the 1990s. Many bourbons are named after an actual (or sometimes mythical!) figure in bourbon history. So who was Ezra? Well, Ezra was never a real person. But the marketing department back then decided it was a bourbony sounding name and here we are! Ezra Brooks Real Sipping Whiskey 90 Proof 1990s is a smooth old Kentucky whiskey bottled at 45% ABV.
