This old school bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel was specially released in 2005 for the French bottler La Maison du Whisky. It is bottled at 100 proof. The name ‘Four Roses’ has a romantic history: around 1860, the distillery’s founder Paul Jones Jr fell in love with a beautiful woman. He proposed to her by letter, asking her to wear a corsage of four red roses to the upcoming grand ball if she were to accept his proposal. When the night of the ball came, the woman showed up wearing a beautiful gown and a corsage with four roses. To memorialize this special occasion, Paul Jones Jr named his new whiskey after the flowers, and Four Roses was born.
