Foursquare 14 Years Old Sovereignty Exceptional Cask Selection is the 19th expression in Foursquare’s Exceptional Cask Selection series, which features some of the distillery’s most phenomenal rums. Sovereignty was released in November 2021 in honour of Barbados separating fully from Britain and becoming a republic. The rum is a blend of pot and column distillates, double matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks and bottled at 62%. Foursquare 14 Years Old Sovereignty Exceptional Cask Selection has a fruity nose with aromas of blackberry preserve, zesty lemon peel, grapefruit and black cherries as well as some tobacco, dark chocolate, toffee and gingerbread. The palate is oily and complex with layers of citrus, toasted almonds, pomegranate, Turkish delight, licorice and baking spices. The finish is warming and slightly dry with lingering notes of caramel, tobacco, green tea and licorice.
