Foursquare Shibboleth is a 16-year-old single blended rum, a blend of pot and column distilled rum from a single distillery. It is the 16th release in Foursquare’s Exceptional Cask Selection and one of the oldest Foursquare rums ever released. The rum fully aged in ex-bourbon casks in the tropics, and was bottled in 2021 at 56%. Foursquare is a rum distillery on Barbados, reopened in 1996 by the Seale family. It is located on a former sugar plantation that was founded around 1720. The sugar factory ceased production in the late 1980s, so Foursquare imports most of its molasses from Guyana. The distillery is currently led by Richard Seale, a fourth-generation member of a family that has been in the rum business since 1820.
