Glen Albyn was built in 1846 in Inverness. The majority of the distillery’s output was used for blends, so single malt bottlings are very rare. On top of that, Glen Albyn has been closed since 1983 and was later demolished. Glen Albyn 40 Years Old Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection 1979 is a very rare single cask whisky from this lost distillery, bottled by renowned independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail for the Private Collection. The single malt was distilled in September 1979 and matured for 40 years in first-fill sherry puncheon #3856. It was bottled in September 2019 at a cask strength of 52.2%. One of just 142 bottles.
