Glen Grant 20 Years Old Chieftain’s Rum Finish 1997 is a limited-edition single malt, bottled by Ian Macleod as part of the Chieftain’s range. The whisky was distilled in May 1997 and received a finish in a cask that previously held rum. After a total maturation of 20 years, it was bottled in April 2018 at 46%. Glen Grant was the first of five distilleries in the town of Rothes. It was founded in 1840 by the brothers John and James Grant, and stayed in the hands of the Grant family for over 130 years. In 1977, Glen Grant was acquired by the Canadian spirits giant Seagram, and today the distillery is in the hands of the Campari Group. Fun fact: Glen Grant is the only distillery in Scotland to be named after its founders! One of 262 bottles.
