Matured in hand-filled first-fill American oak casks, this Glen Keith 28 Years Old Special Aged Release is a rare sight. Founded in 1958 by the Chivas Brothers, Glen Keith is a relatively young Scottish distillery. It’s located in the Speyside town of Keith, very close to Scotland’s oldest distillery: Strathisla. The site got mothballed in 1999, but was luckily revived again in 2013. This Glen Keith 28 Years Old Special Aged Release was distilled before it was mothballed and bottled in Jun 2019 under batch no. GK/001. It’s a complex, spicy and yet fruity whisky, with peach and apricot on the nose and orange zest on the palate.
