A 30-year-old single cask Glen Scotia? Bring it on! Glen Scotia 30 Years Old Chieftain’s 1974 was bottled by renowned independent bottler Ian Macleod for the Chieftain’s Choice range. The whisky was distilled in March 1974 and matured for 30 years in rum barrel #993. It was bottled in March 2004 at a cask strength of 41.2%. Glen Scotia is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland, and one of the three remaining Campbeltown distilleries. It was founded in 1832 by Stewart & Galbraith Co. Glen Scotia is currently in the hands of the Loch Lomond Group, who reopened the distillery in 1999 after its previous owners mothballed it. Only 192 bottles of Glen Scotia 30 Years Old Chieftain’s 1974 have been released.
