Glenallachie is one of the last remaining independently owned distilleries in Scotland. At the helm is Billy Walker, a veteran of the whisky biz with over 50 years of experience under his belt. When he took over Glenallachie he inherited an incredible range of whiskies patiently maturing in their warehouses, some stretching back to the 1970s! Originally Glenallachie was opened to supply whisky for blends and to keep up with the huge surge in demand during the 1960s. These days we’re lucky to be able to sample some of the grand single malts that have been sitting there for decades. Glenallachie 28 Years Old Single Cask 1990 Cask #1468 has a nose of chocolate, cinnamon, figs and plums. The palate has heather honey with the plums and figs returning. The finish is long and chocolatey.
