Glendronach is the expert when it comes to sherry maturation. The distillery’s founder, James Allardice, already aged his whisky in sherry casks nearly two centuries ago and his successors continue to hone the art of sherry cask maturation. Glendronach 26 Years Old Cask Bottling 1993 Cask #5965 is a wonderful sherried single malt. It was distilled on 21 May 1993 and matured for 26 years in Pedro Ximénez puncheon #5965, before being bottled in 2019 at 55.2%. 717 bottles were drawn from a single cask. Glendronach 26 Years Old Cask Bottling 1993 Cask #5965 has aromas of cherries, chocolate, hazelnuts and a hint of leather on the nose. The palate delivers notes of ginger, raisins, dried apple, cocoa, walnuts and tobacco.
