This teardrop decanter is an eye catcher for sure. The 30-year-old Glenglassaugh is one of the first expressions that was launched after the 2008 reopening of Glenglassaugh, that had been making blends for nearly two decades. Times have changed for sure: the brand is known today for their excellent single malts. Speyside distillery Glenglassaugh was completely renewed and refurbished in the first decade of this century. It reopened in 2008 to great succes. Glenglassaugh first opened in 1875 and was named after their local water source, the Glenglassaugh Springs. From 1986 until 2008, it was owned by Edrington, the parent company of Macallan and Highland Park. They mainly used the distillery to make blended whisky. Owner Scaent Group took the brand to a higher level after reopening in 2008: they bottled well aged and pre-Edrington distilled whisky as single cask releases. These single malts were appreciated greatly. These types of releases were continued by BenRiach, which acquired Glenglassaugh in 2013.
