Glenlivet 12 Years Old First Fill is a limited-edition single malt that matured exclusively in first-fill American oak barrels, adding layers of sweetness to Glenlivet’s light and floral character. The expression was originally released in February 2005 for the travel retail market, and was later made more widely available. Glenlivet 12 Years Old First Fill reveals perfectly balanced aromas of vanilla, late summer flowers, tangerines, hazelnuts, almonds, caramel and grated nutmeg. The palate is smooth and silky with notes of creamy vanilla, coconut flakes, buttered toast with sweet orange marmalade, and ripe fruity pears, leading to a warm and rewarding finish with hints of oak, gentle spice and almonds.
