Each year Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard’s Scotch whisky arm) releases The Distillery Reserve Collection, featuring limited-edition malts from their Scotch distilleries. This release was available at the distillery only, but this must have malt is also available worldwide through us, Musthave Malts! Glenlivet Cask 34200 is a single cask malt from the Speyside distillery Glenlivet. It was distilled on 28 February 1995 and matured in a second-fill sherry butt for 23 years, before being bottled on 24 July 2018 at a cask strength of 54.1%. Only 864 bottles of Glenlivet 23 Years Old Distillery Reserve Collection 1995 Cask 34200 have been released. George Smith, Glenlivet’s founder, was the first person in Scotland to apply for a license to legally produce whisky after the Excise Act of 1823 was passed. This made him very unpopular, since all the neighboring illicit distillers were hoping that the Excise Act would be repealed. George Smith regularly received threats, causing him to carry two pistols with him at all times.
