Glenlivet XXV 25 Years Old Batch 0910A is a classic Glenlivet single malt, which matured for 25 years and has been finished in hand-selected first-fill oloroso sherry casks. The bottle comes in an elegant wooden presentation box. Glenlivet is the oldest legal distillery in Scotland. It started out as an illicit distillery in the remote Glenlivet Valley, but when the Excise Act of 1823 was passed, Glenlivet founder George Smith was the first person to apply for a license. This made him very unpopular among his neighbors, who quietly wanted to continue their illegal distilleries without paying the license fee. It’s said that he never left his house without a gun. This stunning example of whisky making was bottled somewhere between 2008 and 2012.
