Glenmorangie X Made For Mixing is a special release of Glenmorangie single malt, created in collaboration with top bartenders to be perfect for mixing. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon barrels and was finished in new charred oak casks. It was bottled in February 2021 at 40% ABV. The bottle comes with a small booklet containing some of the recipes you can make with this whisky. You have to brush off your French though, as it’s written in that languae. Glenmorangie was founded in 1843 by farmer William Matheson. Production had been going on at the farm as early as 1738, possibly even 1703. Until 2008, the distillation process at Glenmorangie was undertaken by a staff of 16, nicknamed ‘The Sixteen Men of Tain’ after the town of Tain where the distillery is located. After an expansion there is now a staff of 24, simply referred to as ‘The Men of Tain’. Glenmorangie was acquired by Moët Hennessy in 2004.
