The Last Drop Distillers was founded in 2008 by Tom Jago, James Espey and Peter Fleck, with the goal to find and share only the best and rarest spirits from all over the world. The company was acquired by Sazerac in 2016. Grande Champagne Cognac Hors d’Age The Last Drop 1925 is a very rare cognac, hidden in the cellar of a small distillery in the Grande Champagne region. It was distilled in circa 1925 in a small, traditional wood-fired still and matured in a single ex-Pineau des Charentes cask in France for over 90 years. Just 182 bottles were produced in 2018. This is an exceptional spirit: old and mature but fresh and bright, with a distinct sweetness and wonderful elegance. There is a perfect harmony between layers of ripe exotic fruits, assertive oak tannins, powerful rancio and elegant acidity.
