Grommes & Ullrich 1936 Black Label is pretty old bourbon! It was distilled in 1936, just a few years after Prohibition was repealed, and most likely bottled in the 1950s by the Chicago-based Marquette Distributors. Grommes & Ullrich was established in 1860 by Hubert Grommes and Michael Ullrich, who opened a liquor store in Chicago. The company prevailed for over 50 years but shut down at the start of Prohibition. Whether the bourbon brand that arose after Prohibition had any connection to the original company is unclear. Grommes & Ullrich 1936 Black Label is a truly rare find!
