The Hampden Estate, founded in 1753, is one of Jamaica’s oldest distilleries. The distillery began ageing its own rums in 2010, after Everglades Farms Ltd. took over ownership the year before. The Rare Cask Series is a collection of aged rums selected from some of Hampden’s oldest stocks. Hampden 12 Years Old HLCF Rare Cask Series 2010 Cask #78 carries the HLCF marque, which stands for ‘Hampden Light Continental Flavoured’ and indicates an ester level of between 500-600 gr/hL AA. The rum was distilled in 2010 and laid down in bourbon barrel #78, receiving 12 years of maturation in Jamaica’s tropical climate. It was bottled in 2022 at a cask strength of 61.9%. One of 231 bottles.
