Hazelburn 10 Years Old Rundlets & Kilderkins 2014 is the third release in Springbank’s Rundlets & Kilderkins series. Hazelburn was a Campbeltown distillery that closed in 1926, and in 2005 the Springbank distillery named one of their single malts after it. The whisky, distilled in November 2003, has been triple-distilled and matured for 10 years before being bottled in January 2014 at 50.1%. Rundlets and kilderkins are some of the smallest casks used in whisky distilling. Rundlets (about 68 liters) are typically used to mature wine and kilderkins (about 83 liters) to mature beer. This small size ensures a greater impact of the wood on the whisky during the maturation process. Only 12.000 bottles of Hazelburn 10 Years Old Rundlets & Kilderkins 2014 were released.
