Hazelburn is the newest of the three styles of whisky available from Springbank. It first came rolling off the copper stills in 1997 and has proved very popular since. This triple distilled single malt uses malt that is air dried only giving a lighter character. It is named after one of the Campbeltown distilleries of old which operated from around 1825 for about 100 years. This was back in the day that Campbeltown was thought of as the whisky capital of the world with at least 30 distilleries humming along. These days only three remain, with Springbank being one of them. Hazelburn 10 Years Old has a honeyed nose with vanilla, fudge, baked pears and apples, nougat and biscuit. The palate is smooth with vanilla, milk chocolate and honey. The finish is creamy with chocolate notes.
