Hazelburn is the youngest of Springbank’s three distinctive single malts. The unpeated and triple distilled malt was first produced in 1997, and saw its inaugural release in 2005. Hazelburn 14 Years Old Oloroso Cask Matured 2004 is part of the annual Oloroso Cask Matured series. This limited-edition Hazelburn was distilled in October 2004 and aged for 14 years in Oloroso sherry casks, before being bottled in February 2019 at 49.3%. On the nose, you’ll find aromas of fruit and nut chocolate, raisins and almonds. This is followed by summer fruits, dark chocolate and pecan pie. The palate is leathery with raspberry coulis, milk chocolate, freshly baked blueberry muffins and pear drops, while the finish is long with lingering notes of salted caramel, pepper, coffee beans and waxy banana peel.
