Hearach Isle Of Harris Batch 9 is an amazing small batch single malt whisky from the exciting new Harris distillery, which opened in 2015 on the eponymous Isle of Harris. The distillery’s single malt is called The Hearach, the Gaelic word for a resident of Harris. Hearach Isle Of Harris Batch 9 matured for a minimum of 4 years in ex-bourbon casks from Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace, as well as Oloroso and Fino sherry casks. It was bottled in January 2024 at 46%. The result is an impressive single malt with a light, fresh wood smoke on the nose followed by cereal notes and spices. A nice clean greenness on the palate leads to sweet notes of sticky toffee pudding and dates. One of 12,385 bottles.
