Renowned bottler C. Dully – who is known for his amazing cognacs, bourbons, malts and gorgeously designed releases – bottled this 15-year-old 127.4 proof single barrel Heaven Hill exclusively for Must Have Malts (that’s us!). It’s the second release bottled for MHM, following the 2023 24-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Demand for that release brought our website’s servers down when we released it, so we’re prepared this time… Distilled in 2009 and aged in cask #3448512, this whiskey spent several years maturing in Scotland. The cooler climate, slowing the aging process, allowed for subtler oak influence and a gradual integration of flavors. The result is a softer expression with a drier finish and more herbal, earthy notes than one might expect from a USA aged bourbon. At 63.7% ABV, it still delivers serious strength.
