Heaven Hill 1981 Half Gallon is a dusty half gallon bottle of amazing Heaven Hill bourbon, bottled at 80 proof in the 1980s. The bottle has a useful handle and built-in pourer. Heaven Hill is the largest family-owned distillery in the United States. It was established in 1935, shortly after the end of Prohibition, by a group of investors that included distiller Joseph L. Beam. They decided to name their distillery after the farmer who previously owned the land, one William Heavenhill. Legend has it that a typo on the permit led to the name being misread as two separate words – use spell check, kids! Since its founding, all the Master Distillers of Heaven Hill have been members of the Beam family. Please note: due to the size, it takes three spaces in a parcel. One side of the tax strip is torn, the other side is visible on the product photo.
