The Japanese word Hibiki means ‘resonance’. In 1989, Suntory created the Hibiki blend to commemorate the company’s philosophy of living in harmony with people and nature. The no-age statement expression Japanese Harmony was introduced in 2015. The blend is made up of malt and grain whiskies from Suntory’s Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries. It aged in five different cask types including sherry casks, American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and rare Mizunara oak casks. Some of the whiskies aged up to approximately 20 years, resulting in a unique blend with a very sweet and gentle flavour. Hibiki Japanese Harmony has aromas of rose, lychee, rosemary, mature woodiness and sandalwood on the nose. The palate has a honeylike sweetness and notes of candied orange peel and white chocolate. The finish is long and tender with a hint of Mizunara.
