This 30-year-old single malt from Highland Park (the label says Orkney Distillery, as Highland Park is very selective when it comes down to letting indeopendent bottlers use the actual name. Not even a renowned bottler like Hunter Laing can always use it, apparently, and apparently not even for a 30-year-old beast of a whieky) was distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2020 at a cask strength of 43.1%. It is the first bottling in The Kinship 2020 series from independent bottler Hunter Laing, commemorating this year’s Fèis Ìle whisky festival, which was moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Only 439 bottles of Highland Park The Kinship 30 Years Old were released. Fun fact: Highland Park is the most northerly-located Scotch distillery in the world! It was founded at the end of the 18th century on the Orkney Islands north of the Scottish mainland. The distillery still uses traditional kilns that are more than a century old. Highland Park whisky is considered by many to be some of the best in the world.
